Construction of our Plywood Blinds.
The base frame is Mig-welded 14 gauge steel box tubing, with 12 inch metal legs, that adjust out to 18 inches, to allow you to set your blind level. The blind is assembled with construction glue and screws, there are no nails in our blinds! The walls are made with 1/2 inch CDX grade exterior plywood, which is screwed to the metal base. We cover the outside corners with metal to seal the blind's corners. New 2x4s are used for all the support framing in the walls. The floor system is 3/4 inch plywood, screwed to the metal base and covered with carpet. The ceiling is 1/2 inch plywood with aluminum for the roof, which is hand bend over the sides to make it leak-proof.
Due to the cost for shipping we do not offer a kit form of our blinds.
The pictures below are of a 4x6x6, all of our blinds are assembled the same way.
The photos below show the bottom and
top of the base before carpet and walls base and the screws we
use to attach the 3/4 plywood to the metal frame. Note the hold-downs
Mig-welded under the base, these are used as anchor points to
secure your blind down. We also use these to tie down the blinds
during transportation.
The next step is to install the carpet.
Next we install the walls.
The walls are attached to each other at the corners using screws. The walls are attached to the metal base using screws also.
All of our blinds have full doors, no crawling into our blinds.
The top of our blinds is covered with aluminum, which is then bent over the sides and corners and screwed. There are no screws or nails in the top, only on the sides. A rain guard is placed over the door.
Every part of our blinds is made here on site, we do not buy any pre-built parts. This helps us keep the finial cost down for you.
